Board of intermediate education, Karachi (BSEK Karachi) is one the six educational boards that are presently working in Sindh province. Board of intermediate and secondary education, Karachi started its working as an independent educational body for Karachi and its neighboring areas. The board was established through the Sindh boards of Intermediate and Secondary education.
Since the time of its establishment the board authorities are working brilliantly and this is the reason that the exceptional working of Karachi board now enables the students to work in a better way and to give their best and also the exceptional environment of this board makes the aspirants prepared for the competitive environment.
BIEK Karachi board is one of the oldest educational boards that are working in Sindh for the aspirants of Karachi and the jurisdiction areas. BSEK Karachi is also paying attention for improving the educational facilities for the students and also to improve the examination system and the environment so that the aspirants will be able to get the best results of their hardworking.
The main objective behind the establishment of Karachi board is to promote the education in the region as well as the and to increase the literacy rate of the country. The major responsibilities which are performed by the authorities of Board of intermediate and secondary education include the affiliation of the schools and intermediate level colleges located in Karachi and in its nearby areas, conducting annual exams of matriculation and intermediate level, arrangement of supplementary exams for private and regular students of matric and intermediate level, provision of necessary facilities to the students and the staff, arrangement of suitable examination halls and faculty for the supervision of exams timely, registration of private and regular students at matric and inter level, delivery of roll number slips to registered candidates before exams and also announcement of fair results.
Board of intermediate education, Karachi is enjoying a good repute among the others because of its best educational facilities and actually this is the reason that because of its fair environment every year large numbers of students appeared in annual exams of higher secondary school certificate (HSSC) and secondary school certificate (SSC) level held under the supervision of the board.
The Karachi board also follows the similar educational policy followed by the other educational boards of Sindh. Every year board organizes 10th class and intermediate level exams in March and May respectively. However, the board organizes these exams in parts for the convenience of students. At SSC level it organizes the exams for two academic groups which include arts and science. On the other hand, at 12th level it organizes the exams for six groups which include pre-engineering, pre-medical, arts, commerce, general science and computer science.
In March, in the first phase it conducts the exams of 10th class and afterwards it organizes the exams of 9th class. Before the commencement of exams, the board starts the registration procedure for the private and regular students who wish to appear in the matriculation exams. For this purpose, the board uploads its notification regarding registration at its official website.
The registration for external and internal candidates of matric level normally begins in October and continues till November.
Likewise the board follows the same procedure for the intermediate level students. The registration for intermediate level students usually begins in December and continues till January.
One month before the commencement of the exams of above mentioned levels, the board issues date sheet for the students while it dispatches the roll number to candidates almost 15 days earlier.
After the announcement of result 2018 of these exams, board officials also distributes medals and cash prizes among position holders in a special organizes ceremony. The chairperson of BISE Karachi board also distributes some scholarships every year among needy and deserving students to assist them in continuing their further studies.
